“The open nest of the titlus provoneus almost assures that the egg is never hatched in plane site. Many have been picked up by poachers and beaten repeatedly with sticks until lost or discarded. Only then they are hatched and repeat the cycle of life. The population is strong because eggs can be found throughout the world.”
Masters Round 3
So who will be leading at the end of Saturday? Tiger? Rory? Or maybe more of a darkhorse like Day, Quiros, or even Westwood? No matter how it plays out, it should make for an exciting watch. Only 5 more hours until we hear that very familar “Hello friends” from Jim Nantz.
Congrats to Murray Tanner!

A Little Windy at Doral
If you haven’t seen this video already, it’s worth a quick watch. Strong storms and winds in excess of 50 mph created havoc at the World Golf Championship event yesterday at Doral. Fortunately the PGA Tour said there were no injuries.
That begs the question, what would you shoot under those conditions?
A Little Something Funny

We came up with this caption, but we’d like to hear from you. Leave a comment with your idea for a caption for this photo.

Rebuilding Tiger
Interesting article today at Golf.com about Tiger Woods and what it will take to rebuild Tiger from a business stand point. With the events of a year ago significantly tarnishing his sterling reputation, Tiger lost tens of millions of dollar in endorsements in addition to his spot as the world’s #1 golfer.
With past sponsors Nike Golf and EA Sports still in his stable, Tiger and his team have begun looking for new endorsement deals. Our society seems to be more than capable of giving second chances (Michael Vick is the perfect example) so it’s surely only a matter of time before Tiger begins dominating commercial airtime on your TV.
The question is… Who do you think will, and who should, endorse Tiger Woods?
The FedEx Cup: A fantastic finale? Or just a flop?
The concept of the FedEx Cup was developed by the PGA Tour and Tim Finchem to try and create some excitement and suspense as the PGA Tour season winds down each year. We are trying to decide if the FedEx Cup has been fantastic, or simply a flop?
All of the other major sports (baseball, football, hockey, and basketball) culminate with a grand finale. Either a championship game or series. Golf’s grand finale, The Tour Championship, is simply an afterthought. Thus was born the FedEx Cup and the PGA Tour’s playoff system. A good idea in theory, but in practice, I think we can all agree it still needs a lot of work. The FedEx Cup definitely lacks the must-watch quality of The Masters, The US Open, or even The Ryder Cup.
Want to make the PGA Tour’s grand finale worth watching? Here’s what would make the FedEx Cup playoffs a lot more captivating. Have 32 players qualify for the Tour Championship and then once they arrive, throw the points system out the window. Have those 32 players tee it up and play 18 holes. Make a cut to the low 16. Ties of course broken by a televised sudden death playoff. The next day, the 16 remaining start over at even par and play 18 more holes. Again, the field gets cut in half and starts over at even. Trim the field from 8 to just 4 in the third round, and on Sunday the 4 remaining golfers get to tee it up. 18 holes for $10,000,000. Pay only the winner. The other players go home with nothing.
What will you get? 4 of the hottest players teeing it up together for 1 round for all the marbles. Seasoned PGA Tour pros battling their nerves, a difficult course, and 3 other players on live TV for a life-changing (to most pros) amount of money. That is indeed must-see TV!
Until then, we’ll probably be watching Romo and the Cowboys trying to win their first game of the year in Houston this Sunday. Let us know how things wrap up at East Lake.
